General Olmsted was not to be reached yesterday
but I informed his Chief of Staff accordingly last evening. The latter told me that Washington had informed General Wedemeyer carlier in the day of approach made to United States Chiefs of Staff but did not indicate that he knew what reply had been made.
2. Meanwhile acting G.0.C. informs me that B......G. have been invited to take part in Hong Kong drop [sic.] and party may well have moved of already.
